The Raytheon Company Has Been Awarded More than $68 Million USD in U.S. Government Contracts


(Waltham, MA) The Raytheon Company is best known as one of the biggest defense contractors, in the U.S.A.  Additionally; it is also an industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons, military electronics and commercial electronics.  Recently, the Raytheon Company revealed that, it was awarded two big government contracts by the U.S. Government.  Overall and combined, the U.S. Government contracts are valued at more than $68 million USD.

          The combined more than $68 million dollar amount, is first arrived at through, a $59,211,905 million dollar contract.  The latter, is for a sensor contractor logistics support.  The sensor is used on the MQ-9 Reaper U.A.V.  The latter, was developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems.  Additionally, it was intended for the U.S. Air Force.  This unmanned aerial vehicle’s top speed, is calculated at 300 M.P.H.  The MQ-9 Reaper U.A.V., has a wingspan of 66 feet.  The contract price of $59,211,905 dollars; is based on a cost plus fixed fee, and, firm fixed price.  In order to obtain this amount of money, the Raytheon Company (NYSE:  RTN) will have to do the following.  Program management, contractor filed service representative support, depot repair, depot maintenance, sustaining engineer support, supply logistics support, configuration management, technology data maintenance, software maintenance, inventory control point and warehouse support are all required services of the stipulated contract.  Interestingly, at the time the Raytheon Company received the awarded contract, it received $37,779,873 million dollars.  The actual services of the contract will be performed at Robins Air Force Base, in the State of Georgia, U.S.A.  Specifically, and inside the military base, at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.

          A second amount of $9,573,118 million dollars, is used to arrive at the combined amount.  The combined amount, is in reference to, the more than $68 million dollars in U.S. government contracts.  Additionally and for the former, it is a modification of the Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile Program.  This modification is for a life-type procurement.  The previously said, is for known obsolete components.  Sustainability efforts are to be undertaken; at guidance stations, and, refill stations of the advanced medium range air to air missiles.  The assigned task is to solve the problem of obsolete components.  Additionally, the previously noted are considered to be, required services of the stipulated contract.  Furthermore, at the time the Raytheon Company received the awarded contract, it received the additional $3,205,185 dollars.  The original agreement is from the year 2017, and that amount, was disclosed at $6,367,933 dollars.  The actual services of the contract are being performed at Eglin Air Force Base, in the State of Florida, U.S.A.  Specifically, and inside the military base, at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.

          To end, both contracts were also announced by the U.S. Department of Defense, on December 21st, 2018.  In the year 2017, the Raytheon Company reported $25 billion dollars in sales.  Additionally, and currently it reports 64,000 employees.  The Raytheon Company also specializes in civil government solutions, as well as, cyber security solutions.  As previously stated, the aforementioned business was recently awarded, two big government contracts by the U.S. Government.  Lastly; overall and combined, the U.S. Government contracts, have a value of more than $68 million USD.
