Taylor Swift Signs with and Joins the Universal Music Group Family


(Santa Monica, CA) In essence, Taylor Swift signing with Universal Music Group, is the same as joining the Vivendi family.  The previous is a somewhat awkward statement, but, the fact is that Vivendi is the owner of Universal Music Group.  Furthermore, for this era of modern music, Taylor Swift is indisputably iconic.  Officially, she has signed a multi-year and multi-album agreement.  In other words, she will continue to be iconic at Republic Records; a member of the Universal Music Group family. 

            The complete details of the deal, where not disclosed; regrettably.  The fact remains that, it is indeed, a multi-year and multi-album agreement.  Taylor Swift has officially left Big Machine Records, and, will be with Republic Records.  The aforementioned record label, is owned by Universal Music Group.  In turn, Universal Music Group is owned by Vivendi.  The previously mentioned business, is a massive media conglomerate, headquartered out of the Country of France.  Additionally, the official headquarters office is located in the City of Paris.  Vivendi’s business ventures are in music, television, film, video games, telecommunications, tickets and video hosting services.  Returning to Taylor Swift and for the new signed deal, Universal Music Group will perform the role of exclusive worldwide music partner.  Sir Lucian Grainge is the Chairman and the C.E.O. of Universal Music Group.  Through a press statement, Mr. Grainge said the following.  Few artists in history approach Taylor Swift’s combination of massive global hits and creative brilliance.  She is so multi-talented, she can achieve anything.  I have such enormous respect for Taylor, in particular for her use of her hard-earned influence to promote positive change.  Because of her commitment to her fellow artists, not only did she want to partner with a company that understood her creative vision and had the resources and expertise to execute globally on her behalf, she also sought a partner whose approach to artists was aligned with hers.  With these shared beliefs, there is so much we can accomplish together, and all of us at UMG are enormously proud to be embarking on the next chapter of her career alongside her.”

            Technically, Republic Records is a business division of Universal Music Group.  Whilst signed to Republic Records, Taylor Swift, will be part of a roster of accomplished music artists and superstars.  The accomplished music artists and superstars include; Ariana Grande, Black Sabbath, Florence + the Machine, Hailee Steinfeld, James Blake, James Bay, John Mellencamp, Julia Michaels, Kid Cudi, Liam Payne, Of Monsters and Men, Post Malone, Seth MacFarlane and Stevie Wonder.  Republic Records was founded by two brothers; Monte Lipman and Avery Lipman.  Furthermore, it is successful in the music industry, because, of its business partnerships.  Business partners of Republic Records include; American Recordings, Boominati Worldwide, Brushfire, Casablanca Records, Cash Money, Hollywood Records, Lava Records, Monkeywrench, XO, Young Money and Roc Nation.  Monte Lipman is a Founder and the C.E.O. of Republic Records.  Through a press statement, Mr. Lipman said the following.  “Taylor has not only captured the imagination of an entire generation, but has also redefined the paradigm of the modern music industry.  Her commitment to songwriting and performing has earned her the respect of her peers and millions of adoring fans around the world.  I can only imagine what Taylor is capable of achieving in the years to come, both culturally and creatively.  I’m beyond thrilled to create an alliance with Republic Records and the incomparable Taylor Swift.”

            To end, a recent example of Taylor Swift’s iconic status, and subsequent, success in the music industry is her most recent music album; Reputation (2017).  The latter, was the highest selling music album in the U.S.A. for the year 2017.  On the iTunes sales charts, this album was number 1, in 111 countries.  Within the first seven days, almost 1.3 million albums were sold.  On the internet; the lyric video for, Look What You Made Me Do, achieved 19 million views in the first day of being released.  The official music video, for the same song, achieved 43.2 million views in the first day of being released.  As previously stated; Taylor Swift has left Big Machine Records, and, she will join Republic Records.  Officially, the multi-year and multi-album deal is with Universal Music Group.  The aforementioned business, is owned by the multi-national conglomerate Vivendi.  In essence, Taylor Swift has joined the Vivendi family.  Lastly, her iconic status does remain intact.
