Hoisington’s Newest Novel Builds Upon Wyss’s Original; The Swiss Family Robinson


(Seattle, WA) The everlasting presence of the 1812 novel, The Swiss Family Robinson, continues unabated.  In recent history and the year 2015; T.J. Hoisington, extended the presence of the aforementioned, 1812 literary work.  He did it with his novel, a sequel, Return to Robinson Island.  Well and once again; T.J. Hoisington, has extended the presence of the novel, The Swiss Family Robinson.  T.J. Hoisington’s newest novel is, The Swiss Family Robinson Secret Discovery.  Additionally, it is the second part to his original sequel.  The release date hasn’t been revealed; however, it is going to be released in the year 2019.  For this new novel; T.J. Hoisington embodies and continues, an awkward family tradition, which the author of the 1812 novel started. 

            The novel; The Swiss Family Robinson, was written by Johann David Wyss, and, in the German Language.  Additionally; it was first published in the year 1812, and, in the Country of Switzerland.  Furthermore; it is classified under the adventure fiction genre, and, it is 323 pages long.  For Johann David Wyss and during his time, this novel was a complete family project and tradition; the awkward family tradition.  Johann David Wyss, himself, was a Swiss Pastor.  His son, Johann Rudolf Wyss, is the editor of the novel.  His other son; Johann Emmanuel Wyss, is the illustrator, and, the publisher of the novel The Swiss Family Robinson.  This novel, itself, has tremendous influence in the literary world, as well as popular culture.  For example, there are sequels that, were written by other authors.  The novel; Willis the Pilot, is one of those sequels, and, it was written in 1858.  Regrettably, the official author is disputed.  The dispute is between Johann Wyss, or, Johanna Spyri as to whom is the book’s author.  The novel; Second Fatherland, is a second example of those sequels, and, it was written in 1900.  The official author is Jules Verne.  Additionally, it was published in two volumes; Their Island Home, and, Castaways of the Flag.  The novel; Return to Robinson Island, is a third example of those sequels, and, it was written in the year 2015.  The official author is T.J. Hoisington.  In popular culture, the novel The Swiss Family Robinson, has been interpreted various times, into, movies and television series.  Swiss Family Robinson (1940), Swiss Family Robinson (1960), The Swiss Family Robinson (1976) and The Adventures of Swiss Family Robinson (1998); are all released movies based on the aforementioned novel by Johann David Wyss.  The television series are; English Family Robinson (1957), Lost in Space (1965-1968), Swiss Family Robinson (1975) and The Adventures of Swiss Family Robinson (New Zealand) (1998).

            Strangely enough, for his second novel to his sequel, T.J. Hoisington continued Wyss’s family tradition.  The Swiss Family Robinson Secret Discovery, is Hoisington’s second part to his original sequel.  Additionally, his daughter Kyla Hoisington helped write this novel.  T.J. Hoisington did release a press statement.  Through a press statement, Mr. Hoisington describes the process.  “This book began when daughter, Kyla Hoisington asked, (TJ) ‘Dad, I want to be an author like you.’  TJ Hoisington responded with, ‘OK.  But writing a book is not easy and you have to be willing to pay the price.’  Kyla responded with, ‘I can do it.  What do I need to do?’  ‘Do you remember the story I would tell you about you and your sister going back in time and meeting the Swiss Family Robinson?’ TJ asked.  She remembered, TJ continued, ‘If you write the first set of chapters as you imagine it, then I’ll know you are serious, and we will write a book together.’  She agreed and two months and twenty-eight chapters later, the new adventure was born.” 

            To end; the synopsis for T.J. Hoisington’s newest novel, The Swiss Family Robinson Secret Discovery, is as follows.  One day, two sisters Zoey and Katie enter the woods, in order, to build a tree house.  The woods are close to their house.  Unexpectedly, they become frightened by something.  As a result, they run into the deep woods and hide.  Zoey and Katie hide behind a large tree.  Immediately, Zoey and Katie notice that the stones on the ground, are glowing bright yellow.  Unexpectedly, a magical door opens on the tree’s trunk.  Zoey and Katie enter the door, and, they arrive in the year 1817.  Furthermore, the location is Robinson Island, which is in the middle of the Indian Ocean.  In a surprising twist, Zoey and Katie meet the characters from the original 1812 novel; Johann David Wyss’s characters.  Zoey and Katie stay on the island, and, they help rescue the Swiss Family Robinson from impending danger.  As previously stated, T.J. Hoisington’s newest novel is, The Swiss Family Robinson Secret Discovery.  The aforementioned novel, is set and ready to be released in the year 2019.  Additionally; it is a second part to his original sequel, to the novel The Swiss Family Robinson.  Lastly, Hoisington’s original sequel was published in the year 2015.  This novel’s title is, Return to Robinson Island.
