California Hall of Fame’s 12th Class Has Been Revealed


(Sacramento, CA) Only the most special of inspirational individuals, Californians to be exact, are chosen for the California Hall of Fame.  Recently, California Hall of Fame’s 12th Class, was formally revealed.  The revelation was done by California Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., First Lady of California Anne Brown and the California Museum.  The new inductees will join 113 other Californians, in the California Hall of Fame.  All of the people in the 12th class of inductees embody the state’s spirit of innovation; it is said.  Officially the 12th class of inductees is made up of Joan Baez, Arlene Blum, Belva Davis, Thomas Keller, Ed Lee, Nancy McFadden, Robert Redford and Fernando Valenzuela.

            The official induction ceremony will be conducted on December 4th, 2018 at 7:00 pm.  This event is, closed to the public.  However, the 12th Annual California Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be broadcasted live, on the internet.  Visit the website, Californiamuseum.org to find the web cast link.  In addition to the induction ceremony, the inductees will have their lives and legacies commemorated, through, artifact exhibits.  The artifact exhibits will be opened to the general public, for the first time, on December 5th, 2018.  The California Hall of Fame is housed, inside, the California Museum.  Richard Costigan III is a Trustee of the California Museum Board of Trustees.  Through a press statement, Mr. Costigan said the following.  “We’re thrilled to celebrate this new class with the Governor and First Lady.  We’re also grateful to lead sponsor Visit California.  Thanks to their support, the Museum will continue inspiring more than 120,000 visitors to make a mark on history in the year ahead.”  Caroline Beteta is the President and the C.E.O. of Visit California.  Through a press statement, Ms./Mrs. Beteta said the following.  “California’s ‘Dream Big’ spirit shines brightly in this year’s class of inductees.  Their innovations have changed the world and inspired millions to look to California to lead the way forward for generations to come.”

            Inductees of the California Hall of Fame are personally selected by the governor of the state, and, the first lady of the state.  The goal is to honor and commemorate individuals; who have achievements and contributions in the areas of science, philanthropy, sports, business, entertainment, the arts, literature, technology, activism and politics.  As previously said the 12th class of inductees is made up of Joan Baez, Arlene Blum, Belva Davis, Thomas Keller,  Ed Lee, Nancy McFadden, Robert Redford and Fernando Valenzuela.  Specifically:  Joan Baez is a musician; Arlene Blum is a mountaineer & scientist; Belva Davis is a journalist; Thomas Keller is a chef; Ed Lee is the ex-Mayor of San Francisco; Nancy McFadden is a public servant; Robert Redford is a Hollywood Icon & environmentalist and finally Fernando Valenzuela is an ex-Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.  Through a press statement, Joan Baez said the following.  “I’m proud of the State of California, which thinks outside the box, is outspoken about truth and lies, and is a safe haven for thousands.  It is an honor to be inducted along with my fellow honorees into the California Hall of Fame.”

            To end, Governor of California Edmund G. Brown, Jr. did release a press statement.  Through a press statement, Governor Brown said the following.  “Anne and I are pleased to welcome another class of extraordinary Californians to the Hall of Fame.  These individuals have helped push our state forward, inspiring Californians with their creativity and courage.”  As previously stated, the California Hall of Fame’s 12th Class has been, formally, revealed.  The revelation was done by California Governor Edmund G.
