Author Herbie J. Pilato Releases a Biography Book about Mary Tyler Moore


(Los Angeles, CA) The Dick Van Dyke Show, first premiered in the year 1961.  Additionally, this television series ended in the year 1966.  Overall; it is 5 seasons long, and, there are a total of 158 episodes.  Interestingly, one of the three officially recognized stars, became, an icon for a generation of television viewers.  Mary Tyler Moore, is the aforementioned recognized star, who became an icon.  The other two stars coincidentally were Dick Van Dyke, and, Rose Marie.  Recently, author Herbie J. Pilato announced that, he is releasing a biography book.  The biography book is entitled, Mary:  The Mary Tyler Moore Story.  Additionally, it attempts to document how the actress and television star, achieved a high level of stardom.  The previously said, is something that is rarely achieved.  The book is published by Jacobs/Brown Press.

Pilato did the following things.  Additionally, these things are Pilato’s efforts to set his book apart, from the rest.  In order to talk about, Mary Tyler Moore’s personal and professional life, Pilato conducted interviews.  The interviews include professional colleagues, television show writers and television show producers.  Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod, Larry Matthews, Betty Rollin and Carol Channing; all sat down for interviews with Herbie J. Pilato.  Through the conducted interviews; Pilato gathered enough data, to be able to, talk about Mary Tyler Moore’s personal, and, professional struggles.  This collected data is then converted, into, a narration.  Through narration Herbie J. Pilato; discusses the television productions, movie productions, stage plays and the personal appearances that spanned this actress’s career.  The latter, is a career of more than 50 years.  Herbie J. Pilato also used the gathered data, to explore Mary Tyler Moore’s dark issues.  For example childhood sexual abuse, alcoholism, her parents, her spouses, her son, her siblings, diabetes and cosmetic surgery are all talked about; through Pilato’s narration.
