(Los Angeles, CA) In the past, the Transamerica Center for Health Studies (TCHS), has tackled the improbable tasks of creating healthy interpretations of classic meals or dishes. In fact, the successful tackling of the improbable task was done, through, free cookbooks. To be exact, TCHS has previously released free cookbooks that interpret classic dishes, into, healthy food. TCHS’s Soul Food Cookbook, TCHS’s Regional American Classics Cookbook and TCHS’s Traditional Mexican Cookbook are examples of the aforementioned. Additionally; all of these previous cookbook projects, were done in collaboration with, a registered dietician. Recently; Transamerica Center for Health Studies, a division of Transamerica Institute, announced that it has released, another free cookbook. The new healthy food cookbook from TCHS is entitled, Healthier Traditions: Italian Cookbook. Additionally, this new cookbook is a collaborative project with, Christina Badaracco.
Christina Badaracco’s efforts in developing, Healthier Traditions: Italian Cookbook, builds upon a commitment that Transamerica Center for Health Studies embodies. The aforementioned commitment, is to promote health and wellness in people’s everyday lives. The latter, is accomplished through the facilitation of healthy eating habits; all year round. The rationale for the release, and the complimentary availability, is based on the Sixth Annual Consumer Healthcare Survey. The aforementioned survey, was conducted by Transamerica Center for Health Studies. Additionally; it is officially entitled, Stressed Out: Americans and Healthcare. Quickly, two points immediately stand out from, Stressed Out: Americans and Healthcare. The first point; is that a majority of Americans, 62% to be exact, report having a chronic illness. The second point; is that 37% of those people who were surveyed, want to make personal changes that, are related to health. The end result, is 18 Italian classic dishes reinterpreted, by a registered dietician. Additionally; the objective was to simply substitute traditional non-healthy ingredients with healthy ingredients that improve one’s diet, and, overall wellbeing.
Christina Badaracco is an MPH and RD. Additionally, she is the collaborative partner of the cookbook; Healthier Traditions: Italian Cookbook. Through a press statement, Ms./Mrs. Badaracco said the following. “Italian food is a favorite for so many Americans, yet we often rely on restaurants and food companies to make the dishes or decide which ingredients to use, which are not always the healthiest. What makes Italian food special is the fresh and healthy Mediterranean ingredients, which should be chosen with care. The recipes for favorite dishes in this cookbook are accessible to home cooks with easy-to-incorporate tweaks to make them healthier, but still as delicious as ever.”
Hector De La Torre is the Executive Director of Transamerica Center for Health Studies. Through a press statement, Mr. De La Torre said the following. “A month into the new year, many people are looking for ways to maintain new resolutions centered on making healthy lifestyle changes, and that starts with diet and exercise. Consciously thinking about the ingredients in meals and knowing that healthier, equivalent options exist can inspire thoughtful choices and help make sticking to health-conscious routines less daunting.”
As previously said, Transamerica Center for Health Studies is a division of Transamerica Institute. The Transamerica Institute, is a non-profit organization that, is privately funded by the Transamerica Life Insurance Company. The mission statement of the Transamerica Institute is to empower consumers and employers, in order, to achieve the best value and protection from their health coverage. The latter, is accomplished through the empowerment of the individual, so that the individual can make positive health and wellness changes; in his or her life. For the most part, the Transamerica Center for Health Studies, does the day to day interaction with the public. Additionally; it interacts daily with like minded experts, and, organizations.
To end, Hector De La Torre concluded his press statement by stating. “With each free cookbook, we remind people that it does not always require extreme food restrictions or sacrificing your favorite ingredients in order to stay healthy. We have traditional recipes like Lasagne and Bolognese, which substitute some of the meat for mushrooms and lentils, so the dish is still just as hearty and flavorful, but higher in nutrients. We also offer alternative takes on desserts like Tiramisu—with less saturated fat and more fiber.” As previously stated; Transamerica Center for Health Studies (TCHS), a division of Transamerica Institute, recently announced that it has released, another free cookbook.
