The name of this hotel, comes from the City of Palm Springs’ historical “Movie Colony” neighborhood. The latter, is from the Golden Age Era, of American film history. This neighborhood then became characterized by high property walls, thick hedges and scarce sidewalks. Therefore, the term movie colony was adopted.
