The Television Series Nashville Will Be Adapted into a Broadway Musical

(Santa Monica, CA) Originally, the television series Nashville, was broadcasted on the television network ABC.  Four seasons on ABC, and, it is said that more than 8 million viewers would watch this television series.  For the fifth season, the cable television channel CMT became the new broadcast home.  Overall; Nashville is comprised of 6 seasons, and, 124 broadcasted episodes.  The official broadcast years are 2012 to 2018.  Recently, the Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. announced that, the aforementioned television series will be adapted into a Broadway musical.  Technically, Lionsgate and ABC Studios co-produced and distributed, Nashville.  For the adaptation into a musical, the live theatrical rights have been acquired by Scott Delman. 

          As part of the acquired theatrical rights, Scott Delman, becomes the lead producer.  Additionally, he is the President of Blue Spruce Productions.  Specifically, his background is in Broadway theatrical productions.  Mr. Delman has been a producer or co-producer, of 55 Broadway productions.  Some of the musicals that have been produced by Mr. Delman include:  American Idiot; Ragtime; Book of Mormon; Hello, Dolly!; Fun Home and Mean Girls.  Incidentally, 28 of these 55 Broadway productions have received Tony Awards nominations.  Overall, Scott Delman has won 10 Tony Awards.  Scott Delman did release a press statement, as the President of Blue Spruce Productions.  Through a press statement, Mr. Delman said the following.  Nashville, with its complex, relatable characters and sweeping emotional gestures, has all of the narrative elements that I look for in great theatrical source material.  From that rich DNA, we will be building an original story with entirely original music, written by major Nashville and Broadway songwriters.”  Scott Delman also said.  “We are particularly excited to deliver Broadway’s first score of true contemporary country music—a genre that has exploded with mainstream audiences in recent years.  Lionsgate has a treasure-trove of sterling IP, and I’m honored to be a part of this new phase of their live entertainment division.”   

          The premise of the television series, Nashville, is based on Nashville Tennessee’s music scene.  Whilst in the City of Nashville the lives of country music artists, or, musicians are portrayed.  Established country music superstars, up and coming country music musicians, performers and songwriters are all portrayed characters of this television series.  The episodes attempt to show a musician’s life that, is torn apart.  The individual’s life is torn apart, because, the individual’s ambition to succeed in the country music industry is too strong.  For those characters of this television series that, have achieved success, fame is a difficult thing.  Success and fame come with, its own set of struggles and pressures; as it results.  Remaining commercially successful, is also, included in the previously stated pressures.  Nashville is rated TV-PG, and, the episodes are 43 minutes long.  This television series is categorized under the drama, music and romance genre.  The television show’s creator is Callie Khouri.  Nashville is headlined by Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen and Charles Esten.

          To end, the Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.
