Viavi Solutions, Inc. Releases a Handheld Wireless Spectrometer

(San Jose, CA) There has always existed a need, to have non-technician workers perform material analysis.  Throughout different types of industries, to be more specific, is where this need exists.  The non-technician workers at these industries need to be able to perform measurement tests, and, material qualifications tests.  The previously stated, is referred to as material analysis.  The elimination of laboratory tests, for material analysis, is what advancements of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technology; is centered on.  The combination and objective of everything that, has been stated, is to have laboratory quality material analysis conducted by non-technician workers in the field or on the factory floor.  Obviously, the combination and the objective, will help to address the previously stated need.  Recently, Viavi Solutions, Inc. revealed that, it has launched the Micro NIR On-site W.  The Viavi Micro NIR On-site W, is a handheld near infrared spectrometer that, is used specifically for material analysis.  Additionally, it is rated IP67, according to industry standards.  Furthermore, it is perfectly suited for the field, or the factory floor, due to its Bluetooth connectivity.

The Bluetooth connectivity of the, Viavi Micro NIR On-site W, is compatible with a PC computer or tablet computer.  For use with a PC computer or tablet, there is the included Micro NIR Pro 3.0 Software.  Additionally, it is an upgraded version of the old Viavi Chemometrics Modeling Software Suite.  Furthermore, the Micro NIR Pro 3.0 Software is a partial least square (P.L.S.) quantitative model building tool.  The use of the aforementioned, allows the user to build a complete chemometric application.  The software upgrades, when considered as overall, permit field use.

According to Viavi Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:  VIAV), the Micro NIR On-site W is the smallest in the computer technology sector of the economy.  Along with being; an industry first, so to speak, and smallest IP67 rated handheld wireless spectrometer.  The use is real-time of near infrared (NIR) material analysis in the field, or, on the factory floor.  Everything has now been made possible, due to advancements in miniaturized NIR spectroscopy.  As a result, new applications opened up for the use of material analysis, throughout, various types of industries.  The obvious and first example, is very fast overall speed, when it comes to measurements and material qualifications tests.  The second example is that, everything results in a faster decision making process.  Practical applications of the Viavi Micro NIR On-site W include material characterization of food, animal feed, agriculture, pharmaceutical products, chemicals and use in the security markets of the economy.  Specifically and for the pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical raw material identification (R.M.I.D.), is a practical application of the Viavi Micro NIR On-site W.

To end, Steve Saxe is the Product Line Manager of Micro NIR at Viavi Solutions, Inc.  Through a press statement, Mr. Saxe said the following.  “The MicroNIR OnSite-W and Pro 3.0 Software Suite embody the features and functions most requested by our users and the market:  a small, wireless, rugged, reliable, and simple to use system for the field and unpredictable environments.”  Steve Saxe also said.  “The MicroNIR OnSite-W spectrometer and new software are powerful additions to the MicroNIR suite of products, providing an untethered option for material analysis and putting rapid NIR-spectroscopy in the hands of non-technical users, a process once exclusive to laboratory technicians.”  As previously stated, the aforementioned computer technology business recently revealed that, it has launched the Micro NIR On-site W.  The Viavi Micro NIR On-site W, is a handheld near infrared spectrometer that, is used specifically for material analysis.  Additionally, it is rated IP67, according to industry standards.  Lastly and furthermore, it is perfectly suited for the field, or the factory floor, due to its Bluetooth connectivity.
