Noresco, LLC Receives a $32.7 Million USD Contract from Keesler Air Force Base

             The funded ESPC, and as a facility improvements project, was contracted through DLA Energy.  Additionally, it is to be completed in collaboration with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center.  The funded ESPC of $32.7 million dollars, which Noresco, LLC has received is for the following.  Advance the base’s resiliency, advance the security, advance the renewable energy usage, reduce energy costs and reduce deferred maintenance is what the funded ESPC is all about.  Furthermore, Noresco, LLC is owned by the United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:  UTX).
            The scope of work, of the awarded energy savings performance contract (ESPC), is made up of the following.  First, a 1.5MW solar photovoltaic (PV) carport array is to be implemented.  The implementation is to take place at the base commissary, which is near the primary entry gate.  Second, chiller plant optimization controls are going to be installed.  The new controls are intended to replace, the outdated building controls.  Specifically, the new chiller plant optimization controls are cyber-secure direct digital controls.  Third, almost 30,000 light fixtures are going to be upgraded.  For the latter, it also includes parking lot lights, with new LED lighting.  Fourth, oversight of the controls and maintenance of the PV array, has to be executed throughout the life of the contract.  The effort, is to reduce the maintenance burden, all while, helping to ensure improved and reliable operations.  Overall the scope of work and for a value of $32.7 million dollars; these previously stated energy conservation measures are intended to improve reliability, increase cost effectiveness and reduce energy consumption. 
            To end, Noresco, LLC did release a press statement.  Natasha Shah is the Vice President of Federal Business Development at Noresco, LLC.  Through a press statement, Ms./Mrs. Shah said the following.  “We are honored to be working with the Air Force in helping support its mission by improving resiliency, upgrading facility infrastructure and reducing energy consumption, while delivering renewable energy and cyber-secure solutions.  NORESCO has implemented 22 ESPC projects with the Air Force, starting with our first Air Force project completed in 1998.”  As previously stated, Noresco, LLC recently revealed that, it has received a $32.7 million USD guaranteed energy savings performance contract (ESPC).  The contract, to be more exact, is for the facility improvements at Keesler Air Force Base.  Lastly, the facility improvements are considered to be self-funded, but, funded through the ESPC.
