Susan Graham Releases a Non-Fiction Book

(Central Valley, CA) In the State of California, U.S.A., and unofficially there exists a Multiracial Heritage Week.  The unofficial part, is that this celebration and commemoration, is not recognized by state or local government.  Specifically and irregardless of the previous fact, Multiracial Heritage Week (M.H.W.), is a celebration that highlights similarities and never differences.  Additionally, it is celebrated every year from June 7th to June 14th.  The year 2014, was the first year when, Multiracial Heritage Week was celebrated.  For this phase of the history of M.H.W., political involvement is asked for.  To start; people who want to be a part of Multiracial Heritage Week are asked to send letters to state government officials, and, local government officials.  The objective is official recognition of, M.H.W.  Recently, Susan Graham revealed that, she has released a non-fiction book.  The non-fiction book is entitled, Born Biracial:  How One Mother Took on Race in America.  Additionally; the release of this non-fiction book, is the way Susan Graham celebrates and honors, Multiracial Heritage Week.  In; Born Biracial:  How One Mother Took on Race in America, Susan Graham attempts to have an honest discussion with the reader, about, proper racial terminology.

          The honest discussion, about proper racial terminology; according to Susan Graham also involves the pros and cons.  In other words; Susan Graham attempts an honest discussion about the pros and cons of proper racial terminology.  The previously said, is obviously the essence of her non-fiction book, Born Biracial:  How One Mother Took on Race in America.  According to Susan Graham, racial identification is of the utmost importance.  The latter; is due to the fact that, children of the Millennial Generation or Generation Y, are re-shaping conventional population census categories.  As a result, Susan Graham feels passionate, about proper racial terminology.  For the previous, it includes government policies that do not, racially classify people.  However; Susan Graham does feel that government policies ought to educate and enhance community awareness of multiracial children, and, multiracial adults.

          The honest discussion, then becomes, a story of the things that she has done, in order, to champion biracial children.  For example; she has done advocacy on the part of biracial children against local, state and federal government.  The latter, includes testifying at congressional committee hearings.  Her advocacy also involves writing, opinion editorials.  Susan Graham’s opinion editorials have been published by; The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Orlando Sentinel.

          To end, Susan Graham is a White/Caucasian American woman.  Additionally, she has two biracial children.  The father of the children is a Black, or African-American, man.  Her expertise for writing this book, is also, embedded in her personal story.  To start; she did divorce the father of her two biracial children, and then, she re-married another man.  Her second husband, is Portuguese-American poet, Sam Pereira.  Second; she is the Founder, President and Executive Director of Project R.A.C.E.  R.A.C.E. is an acronym for, reclassify all children equally.  Project R.A.C.E. focuses on race issues, ethnic issues, public policy advocacy and civil rights advocacy.  In the State of California, Project R.A.C.E. is one of the strongest supporters of, Multiracial Heritage Week.  As previously stated, Susan Graham recently revealed that, she has released a non-fiction book.  The non-fiction book is entitled, Born Biracial:  How One Mother Took on Race in America.  Additionally; the release of this non-fiction book, is also, intended to be the way Susan Graham celebrates and honors, Multiracial Heritage Week.  Lastly and in; Born Biracial:  How One Mother Took on Race in America, Susan Graham attempts to have an honest discussion with the reader, about, proper racial terminology.
