The Lockheed Martin Corporation Achieves a Satellite Benchmark

(Sunnyvale, CA) The aerospace and defense business; The Lockheed Martin Corporation, primarily conducts business with the U.S. Department of Defense, and, other agencies of the U.S. Federal Government.  The last and remaining portion of business operations is made up of international government contracts, commercial sales of products, services and platforms.  The organization itself, is divided into wide business areas.  These wide business areas are Aeronautics, Missiles & Fire Control, Rotary and Mission Systems & Space.  In reference to the wide business area Space, to be more exact, it is made up of $9.8 billion USD in sales.  The previous, is for the year 2018.  Additionally; space launches, commercial satellites, government satellites and lines of strategic missiles are the essence of the $9.8 billion dollar business area.  Recently, the Lockheed Martin Corporation revealed that, it has achieved a satellite benchmark.  Specifically; it is that the AEHF-4 is now orbiting the Planet Earth, and, it is ready for Satellite Control Availability (S.C.A.).  To be more concise, the benchmark is that the AEHF-4 is the successor of the Milstar; the predecessor.

          The Milstar satellite as the predecessor, along with the AEHF-4 the successor, are now part of the satellite constellation AEHF-Milstar.  Additionally, this satellite constellation is under the command control authority, of the Space and Missile Systems Center of the Air Force Space Command of the U.S. Air Force.  The AEHF-Milstar satellite constellation provides global, survivable, highly secured and protected communications.  The previously said is used for strategic command; so that, soldiers can tactically operate on the ground, sea and air.  As a side note; the AEHF-Milstar satellite constellation of the Space and Missile Systems Center of the Air Force Space Command of the U.S. Air Force, also has, international partners.  These international partners are the Country of Canada, the Country of the Netherlands and the Country of the United Kingdom.

          Continuing with, the satellite benchmark, the aforementioned occurred when the on-orbit test of the AEHF-4 successfully activated the payload.  The on-orbit test of the AEHF-4, is also called, the A4 OOT.  The payload was built by Northrop Grumman, and, further information was not disclosed.  Additionally, for this process the AEHF-4 successfully met all of the stipulated requirements.  This particular test, A4 OOT, was the first in history to have six AEHF operational terminals communicating over X.D.R.  X.D.R. is a new capability that means global extended data rate.  X.D.R. communications occur at a data rate that is; five times better than medium data rate (M.D.R.), and, it is 350 times better than low data rate (L.D.R.).  Lastly; the six operational terminals are AEHF Smart-T, FAB-T, MMPU, NMT, Global ASNT and ACF-IC2.

          To end, the Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:  LMT) did release a press statement.  Mike Cacheiro is the Vice President of Protected Communications for Military Space at the Lockheed Martin Corporation.  Through a press statement, Mr. Cacheiro said the following.  “This is a major milestone to celebrate with our customers at Space and Missiles Systems Center (SMC) the U.S. Air Force and our teammates Northrop Grumman, L3 Communications and Aerojet.  As we turn our focus on launching AEHF-5 in June, one month early, I want to congratulate everyone involved in completing this one of a kind, high-performance network in space.  This is a tremendous accomplishment for the AEHF program and I am proud of the team for consistently exceeding the customer’s mission needs.”  As previously stated, the aforementioned aerospace and defense business recently revealed that, it has achieved a satellite benchmark.  Specifically; it is that the AEHF-4 is now orbiting the Planet Earth, and, it is ready for Satellite Control Availability (S.C.A.).  To be more concise, the benchmark is that the AEHF-4 is the successor of the Milstar; the predecessor.  Lastly, the previously mentioned satellites are now part of the satellite constellation, AEHF-Milstar.
