Ticketmaster and the National Hockey League Extend Their Business Partnership

(Los Angeles, CA) The National Hockey League (NHL), is made up of 31 member clubs.  Additionally; the players on the teams’ rosters, represent a modern international world and global economy.  For the previously said, 20 foreign countries are represented.  The fan base continues to be, as strong as ever.  For example, the NHL reports 670 million fans, as the in-stadium season long attendance average.  Additionally, the NHL reports that more than 100 million fans are active, on Nhl.com.  Meanwhile, Ticketmaster continues to be the leader of the events ticketing marketplace.  In fact, the aforementioned business reports, more than 500 million ticket transactions every year.  29 foreign countries, are also included, in the previously stated.  Ticketmaster likes to cite that, the aforementioned transactions are made possible, through, exclusive partnerships.  These exclusive partnerships include thousands of venues, artists, sports leagues, performing arts centers and theaters.  Recently, Ticketmaster revealed that, it has agreed to a deal with the National Hockey League.  Specifically; the agreed upon deal is a 10 year extension, of the current business partnership, between, these two business entities.  This business partnership, is primarily, Ticketmaster being the exclusive and official ticket marketplace of the National Hockey League.

          As the exclusive and official ticket marketplace of the NHL, Ticketmaster, will also be contributing the following to this business partnership.  Ticketmaster will be contributing, the most recent technology that, can be used for venue and ticketing at all of the NHL events.  However and returning to, the business partnership, the aforementioned is centered on an inventory selection of entrance tickets.  These entrance tickets are made available, through, Ticketmaster.com.  Additionally, Ticketmaster operates the NHL Ticket Exchange.  The latter; makes it easier for fans to buy, re-sell or transfer entrance tickets.  Ticketmaster, is also, the official ticketing partner of 26 of the 31 member clubs.  As previously said, this specific business partnership has been extended for 10 years.

          Returning to the technology contribution, Ticketmaster will be contributing, the most recent venue and ticketing technology.  This technology will be implemented, and subsequently used, at all of the NHL events.  Technically, the technology is two technology solutions; Ticketmaster Presence, and, Safe Tix.  Ticketmaster Presence, is the next-generation digital ticketing and access control platform.  As a platform, Ticketmaster Presence, receives Safe Tix.  Technically, Safe Tix is an enhancement.  Irregardless of which, Safe Tix is an anti-counterfeiting feature that, is used for digital tickets.  Safe Tix works with the fan’s smart telephone.  An encrypted barcode that refreshes every few seconds, produces a unique and identifiable digital entrance ticket.  Safe Tix also enables a “tap and go” entrance at event venues.  Additionally, it provides the NHL team with data and statistics, about the fans who attended the NHL game. 

          Gary Bettman is the Commissioner of the National Hockey League.  Through a press statement, Mr. Bettman said the following.  “We are thrilled to announce this landmark renewal with an iconic brand.  Ticketmaster is the gold-standard in their industry and an outstanding partner of the National Hockey League, and we are excited that we’ll be together for at least another ten years.”  Gary Bettman also said.  “Through our partnership we look forward to using Ticketmaster’s state-of-the-art ticketing and venue-access technology which will continue to serve NHL fans well in arenas around the League.”

          To end, Ticketmaster is owned by Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:  LYV).  Additionally, the aforementioned business did release a press statement.  Jared Smith is the President of Ticketmaster.  Through a press statement, Mr. Smith said the following.  “Ticketmaster is very proud of our longstanding partnership with the NHL.  The NHL has a strong history of being first in line to use the latest and most innovative technologies available.  Now all of our NHL club partners will be able to implement Presence and SafeTix next season, further reducing ticketing fraud and giving teams greater insights to help them forge even stronger relationships with their fans.”  As previously stated, Ticketmaster recently revealed that, it has agreed to a deal with the National Hockey League.  Specifically; the agreed upon deal is a 10 year extension, of the current business partnership, between, these two business entities.  Lastly; the business partnership, is primarily, Ticketmaster being the exclusive and official ticket marketplace of the National Hockey League.
