The 2020 Egypt Season, which will now feature a new river cruise ship and pre-cruise itinerary extensions, is scheduled to begin in September of the year 2020.  Oddly enough, the strong consumer demand, is a little bit surprising.  Just one year ago, the Pharaohs & Pyramids River Cruise itinerary, started for the first time.  For the launch of this river cruise in the Country of Egypt, Viking Cruises sent off the river cruise ship, Viking Ra.  The latter, is officially the first Viking Cruises owned and operated river boat, on the Nile River.  Additionally, it was completely renovated for this purpose.  For the announced expansion of the 2020 Egypt Season, the river boat, Viking Osiris, will be sent off to perform duty.  Currently, the Viking Osiris is under construction.  However; once it is operational and in the Country of Egypt, it will double the capacity, of the Pharaohs & Pyramids River Cruise itinerary.  The new pre-cruise itinerary extensions, to be more exact, are two new pre-cruise itineraries.  Additionally, they are five day pre-departure extensions of the Pharaohs & Pyramids River Cruise itinerary.  Specifically, they are stays in London and Oxford, in the Country of the United Kingdom.
Returning to, the river cruise ship Viking Osiris.  Once it is completed, and, ready to perform duty, it will be capable of the following.  The Viking Osiris will have a guest, or traveler, capacity of 82 people.  Additionally, there will be 41 staterooms.  This river boat is designed to have an elegant Scandinavian appearance.  Furthermore, it will be state of the art, and, very clean.  Returning to, the newly added five day itinerary extensions, the aforementioned will be held in the Country of the U.K.  Specifically, each itinerary extension is five days long.  Officially, they are named British Collections of Ancient Egypt, and, King Tut & the UK’s Egyptian Collections.  The itinerary extension, British Collections of Ancient Egypt, is highlighted by visits to the following four museums.  These four museums do have on permanent exhibition, artifacts from ancient Egyptian civilizations.  The museums are the British Museum, the Museum of Sir John Soane, the Petrie Museum and the Ashmolean Museum.  The itinerary extension, King Tut & the UK’s Egyptian Collections, is highlighted by visits to the following three museums.  These three museums do have on permanent exhibition, artifacts about King Tutankhamun.  The museums are the Griffith Institute at Oxford University, Highclere Castle and Saatchi Gallery.
To end, Viking Cruises did release a press statement.  Torstein Hagen is the Founder and the Chairman of Viking Cruises.  Through a press statement, Mr. Hagen said the following.  Egypt has inspired explorers for generations, and it remains a top destination for many of our guests.  For more than two decades, we have led the river cruise industry with our fleet development and experiences that bring travelers closer to the cultures of the world.  We remain committed to Egypt, and we look forward to introducing the historic treasures of the region to even more Viking guests.”  As previously stated, Viking Cruises recently revealed that, it will expand its selection of river cruises in the Country of Egypt.  The expansion is all set, and, ready for the 2020 Egypt Season.  Specifically, a very high consumer demand is cited as the reason.  Lastly and as a result; a new river cruise ship, along with, pre-cruise itinerary extensions will be added, for the 2020 Egypt Season.
