FCA US, LLC Launches the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel

(Auburn Hills, MI) In the year 2009, the Ram Truck Brand was launched, as a stand alone business division.  The idea was to be able to focus on meeting the rigorous demands from the truck buyers, and, to meet high quality benchmarks.  Since then, there has always existed an innate passion, to make trucks that can carry a heavy load.  A heavy load that can also meet, and, successfully challenge the Ram Truck Brand’s competitors; so goes the innate passion.  Incidentally; the Ram Truck Brand also manufacturers the Pro Master Vans, and, the Pro Master City Vans.  Recently, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles United States, LLC announced that, it continues to have a passion for trucks that can carry a heavy load.  Specifically, the aforementioned automobile manufacturer revealed that, it is launching the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel.  The latter, is all set and ready to be released late, in the year 2019.

During the late part of the year 2019; the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel will begin to be sold, at this time the price and fuel economy ratings, will also be made available.  However and returning to, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles United States, LLC, the aforementioned is also known as FCA US, LLC.  FCA US, LLC was established in October of the year 2014.  Additionally, it was formed through a merger between Fiat, and, Chrysler.  What resulted were a new holding company, and, an Italian-American multinational corporation.  FCA US, LLC, is considered to be the 8th largest automobile manufacturer in the world.  The headquarters office is in London, United Kingdom/Britain.  The parts of the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel are manufactured in Ferrara, Italy.  The assembly and building is completed at, the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Michigan U.S.A.

Returning to, the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel, the aforementioned is quickly distinguished by its basic features.  To start, there are four basic features.  The first basic feature is, the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel is capable of the highest half-ton diesel torque.  The latter, is 480 lb.-ft. of torque.  Additionally, the towing capacity is 12,560 pounds.  The second basic feature is; the Ram Rebel, is also part, of the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel line.  The third basic feature is, the heavy duty 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel has a torque rating of 1,000 lb.-ft.  Finally; the fourth basic feature is, the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel has a unique air suspension.  The latter, aims at improving the fuel economy, whilst also, improving the ride control and the off-road capability.  The air suspension allows for the automatic load leveling upgrade, to be added to the purchase.

The basic features of the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel, quickly become, the special feature of the aforementioned truck.  To be more specific, the special feature is the all new third generation 3.0 liter V-6 Eco Diesel motor or engine.  Obviously, the previous is the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel’s standard motor.  For the distinction, third generation; there is an improved fuel economy, new minimal noise levels, minimal level of vibration and a minimal level of harshness (NVH).  After the basic distinction changes, there are 9 significant changes, to the 3.0 liter V-6 Eco Diesel motor or engine.  The first significant change is, the new generation water cooled turbocharger with variable geometry turbine (V.G.T.).  The latter, increases the efficiency and responsiveness during transient conditions.  The second significant change is, the re-designed cylinder head intake ports.  The latter, improves the swirl and flow.  As a result, the performance is increased, along with, the fuel economy.  The third significant change is, the exhaust gas re-circulation system (E.G.R.).  The latter, has been updated to a dual loop system of low and high pressure.  The idea is to reduce, turbocharger energy loss.  The fourth significant change is, the optimization of the compression ratio.  The latter, has been optimized to 16.0 to 1.  The fifth significant change is, the re-design of the direct injection fuel injector nozzles.  The latter, produces a high pressure of 29,000 P.S.I. and 2,000 Bar.  Additionally, it optimizes the combustion chamber.  The sixth significant change is, the re-design of the lightweight aluminum alloy pistons.  The latter, now come with thinner rings.  The idea is to reduce loss, through, low friction coating of the pin and side skirts.  The seventh significant change is, the change to the NVH.  The latter, was changed when the offsetting piston pin was reduced by 0.3 millimeters; from off the centerline.  Additionally, the previous helps to reduce mechanical noises.  The eighth significant change is, a second change to the NVH.  The latter, is the lower portion of the two piece oil sump; it now uses a lightweight sandwiched polymer/metal material.  The ninth significant change is, the new dual vacuum pump system.  The latter, now uses electricity.  Additionally, new blades were added to the low-friction pump.  The idea is to improve the overall, system efficiency.

To end, FCA US, LLC did release a press statement.  Reid Bigland is the Head of the Ram Truck Brand at FCA US, LLC.  Through a press statement, Mr. Bigland said the following.  “The new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup, following up on Ram’s Heavy Duty torque leadership and achieving what no other manufacturer has, with up to 480 lb.-ft. of torque in a 3.0-liter engine.  The all-new EcoDiesel engine and our eTorque mild-hybrid powertrain technologies deliver the highest available fuel efficiency for our Ram 1500 customers.”  As previously stated, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles United States, LLC recently announced that, it continues to have a passion for trucks that can carry a heavy load.  Specifically, the aforementioned automobile manufacturer revealed that, it is launching the 2020 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel.  Lastly and the latter, is all set and ready to be released late, in the year 2019.
