UFC Fighter Yoel Romero Wins Lawsuit

(New York City, NY and Los Angeles, CA) To start; Yoel Romero is 42 years old, and, 5 feet and 10 inches tall (177.8 cm).  He also has a reach of 73 inches, and, a leg reach of 42 inches.  Mr. Yoel Romero is nicknamed “Soldier of God.”  Additionally, he is from Pinar del Rio, Cuba.  He fights out of Coconut Creek, Florida, U.S.A.  The maximum weight for the Middleweight Class is 160 lbs (72.57 kg).  Yoel Romero is currently listed at 185 pounds (83.81 kg).  His current professional MMA record is 13 wins 3 defeats and 0 draws (tie).  His UFC début, was on April 20th, 2013.  According to official UFC statistics, Yoel Romero has thrown 979 strikes.  Additionally, 502 have landed.  This is a 51% success rate.  On the grappling side, he has attempted 56 takedowns.  20 takedowns were successful, and, it is a success rate of 36%.  Recently, The Spence Law Firm, LLC announced that, Mr. Yoel Romero has another interesting statistic.  Specifically, the aforementioned law firm revealed that, the interesting statistic is winner of a multi-million dollar lawsuit.  The case was Yoel Romero v. Goldstar Performance Products, et al., Civil Action MID-L-007287-17.  The latter, was in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County.  The amount of money that has been awarded is, $27.65 million USD.

          The $27.65 million dollars that have been awarded, is also, the size of the victory against Goldstar Performance Products.  The legal dispute was over a tainted supplement that, was manufactured by Goldstar Performance Products.  This tainted supplement, resulted in Yoel Romero being suspended.  As a result, the legal trial was centered on damages.  However and returning to, Mr. Yoel Romero’s MMA career.  According to official UFC statistics, he also has a strike defense of 63%.  Additionally, a takedown defense of 78%, has also been calculated.  The most recent fight, was against Robert Whittaker at UFC 225.  Yoel Romero lost this fight in the 5th round, and, due to a decision.  The next upcoming fight, is against Paulo Henrique Costa at UFC 241.  The date, for the aforementioned, is August 17th, 2019.

          Returning to, the lawsuit against Goldstar Performance Products; the events start in the year 2015.  The year 2015 is when Mr. Yoel Romero, failed a drug test.  However, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) later on determined and sided with, Mr. Yoel Romero.  Specifically; the USADA determined that the dietary supplement that, was manufactured by Goldstar Performance Products, was tainted with ibutamoren.  Ibutamoren, is a simulated growth hormone.  Additionally, ibutamoren was not listed on the dietary supplement’s label.  According to Yoel Romero’s legal team, the previously described failed drug test, resulted in the following.  It resulted in lost wages, lost professional contracts, a damaged reputation and severe emotional distress.  Mr. Yoel Romero’s legal team accused Goldstar Performance Products of negligence, strict product liability, breach of implied warranties, intentional misrepresentation and having violated the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.  As previously said; Yoel Romero has won this lawsuit, and, the Hon. Carlia M. Brady decided the judgment.

Jacobs.  Through a press statement, Mr. Jacobs said the following.  “From his wrestling world championship to the Olympics to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Yoel’s journey has been long, successful and truthful.  Winning this case was another important step forward for him in setting the record straight.”  R.
