(Palm
Springs, CA) In the year 1938,
when the Palm Springs Art
Museum was founded, it was named the Palm
Springs Desert Museum. At the time, or the original location, it was
located at La Plaza. The latter, is
downtown Palm Springs, California
U.S.A. The original focus was natural science
exhibits, Cahuilla Native American artifacts and hiking excursions. Regrettably, the next 20 years proved to be
almost tumultuous. In the year 1958, the
Palm Springs Desert
Museum found its first permanent
home. The home was the southwest corner
of Tahquitz-McCallum Way,
and, Indian Avenue. In the years that followed, the museum’s
focus shifted. Recently, the Palm
Springs Art Museum
announced that, it always stays focused on its mission. Specifically, the aforementioned museum
revealed that, it has launched an art exhibition. The art exhibition is entitled, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon-Breaking All the
Rules. In, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon-Breaking All the Rules, the Palm
Springs Art Museum showcases graphic and landscape
designs.
The
graphic and landscape designs, which are showcased by the Palm
Springs Art Museum,
will be open to the general public during the following dates. Officially; October 5th, 2019 to January 20th, 2020, is when Barbara Stauffacher Solomon-Breaking All the
Rules, will be open to the general public.
However and retuning to, the Palm Springs
Art Museum, the aforementioned is
now defined by a new focus or mission.
The new focus or mission; is to create transformative experiences that,
expand the understanding of oneself, in relation to ourselves, and the
world. The Board of Trustees in the year
2004, decided to permanently shift the focus or mission. The idea for the mission was a
multi-disciplinary world class art museum that, had a vibrant theater
program. In order to accomplish this
idea; the primary specializations of architecture, photography and contemporary
glass were chosen. As a result of all of
the changes, and in the year 2005, the name was changed. The name; Palm
Springs Art Museum,
was selected to replace, Palm Springs
Desert Museum. Currently, the Palm
Springs Art Museum
employs the use of three museum locations.
The first location, is also, the central location; the Palm
Springs Art Museum. The latter is located on, 101
Museum Drive, Palm Springs, California
U.S.A. 92262. The second location, is the Palm Springs Art
Museum Architecture and Design Center. The latter is located on, 300
S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs California
92262. The third location, is the Palm
Springs Art Museum
in Palm Desert. The latter is located on, 72-567 Highway 111,

attempts to be an art exhibition that references architecture, landscape
architecture, graphic design and supergraphic design. Additionally, the aforementioned references
are Barbara’s works of art. The works of
art are, somewhat of a lifetime collection.
Specifically, the time period is the 1980s to the present time. As an example of what was previously stated,
in the year 1988, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon wrote a book. The book is entitled, Green Architecture and the Agrarian Garden. For this literary effort; Ms./Mrs. Stauffacher
Solomon explored the idea of the green rectangle as a symbol of parks, gardens,
public squares and parking lots. The
point is, drawings and sketches from this creative process will be on display,
as part of the art exhibition. Drawings
and sketches of landscape architecture, is also part, of the previously
stated. Finally, the art exhibition Barbara Stauffacher Solomon-Breaking All the

also broke the rules by encouraging museum visitors to play ping pong in the
exhibition gallery.” Brooke Hodge also
said. “At SFMOMA, the ping pong playing
was short-lived but in Palm Springs
we hope it will echo throughout the space for the entire run of the show.” As previously stated, the Palm
