(Burbank,
CA) Apium graveolens, is the scientific
name of celery. Meanwhile, the family is
Apiaceae. Celery, interestingly, is a
marshland plant. It is believed that,
since antiquity it has been cultivated in order to be eaten, as a
vegetable. As a vegetable, it is green
with a long fibrous stalk that ends, in leaves.
Additionally, the seeds of the plant are used as a spice. Furthermore, the extracts of the celery plant
are used, as herbal medicine. Recently,
Dr. Asa Hershoff announced that, he is very familiar with celery. Specifically, the aforementioned author
revealed that, he has released a non-fiction book. The non-fiction book is entitled, The Dangers of Celery: The Toxicity & Risks of Excess Celery
Juice Consumption. In, The Dangers of Celery: The Toxicity & Risks of Excess Celery
Juice Consumption, Dr. Hershoff reveals that it is dangerous to eat
celery.
The danger of eating celery,
particularly consuming celery as a juice, according to Dr. Asa Hershoff; is
made possible by the following book publishing company. Officially, the book publishing company is,
Healing Wisdom Books. However and
returning to, celery, the aforementioned does have a cultivation process. The plant is normally raised from the seed,
to start the cultivation process. The
seeds are then sown in a hot bed, or, in a garden. For the remainder of the growing process,
celery is planted in deep trenches. The
idea of deep trenches is to avoid having the sun light, hit the stems of the
celery plant. In North
America, Pascal celery is the most common, for commercial
production. Additionally, the Pascal
celery plants are divided into two classes; white and red. In regards to the cultivation process; the
stalks of the plants are placed in tight, straight and parallel bunches. For the North American marketplace, celery is
eaten raw, and, as an ingredient in salads.
Additionally, it is used as the base of flavor for soups, stews and pot
roasts. Interestingly, celery stalks can
be preserved through a pickling process.
The pickling process involves removing the leaves, boiling the celery
stalks, adding vinegar, adding salt and adding vegetable oil.
Returning to, The Dangers of Celery: The Toxicity
& Risks of Excess Celery Juice Consumption, the aforementioned reveals
16 proved toxic effects of the celery plant.
These toxic effects are dangerous, when a person consumes large
quantities of celery, according to Dr. Asa Hershoff. Fascinatingly, he also believes that people
are already, experiencing the side effects without knowing. The premise of the book, The Dangers of Celery: The
Toxicity & Risks of Excess Celery Juice Consumption, is that food and
medicine are two distinct things. For
the non-fiction book’s premise, Dr. Asa Hershoff argues that celery has always
been an herbal medicine. Coincidentally,
the decade of the 1820s is when celery, started to be eaten as a vegetable. The argument then becomes that, all medicines
have inherent risks. This is
particularly true, when considering the dosage.
Dr. Asa Hershoff also argues that celery; is closely related to poison
hemlock, and, water dropwort. The
latter, are poisonous plants that, are found in North America. Due to the latter and as part of Dr.
Hershoff’s argument, celery is known to cause the following five negative side
effects. The first negative side effect
is; allergic reactions, asthma and fatal anaphylaxis. The second negative side effect is, extreme
sun sensitivity. The aforementioned, is
believed to cause sun burns, and, skin cancers.
The third negative side effect is; a miscarriage, male infertility and
fetal abnormalities. The fourth negative
side effect is, suppressed detoxification of the liver and body. Finally the fifth negative side effect is,
incompatibility with hundreds of medical drugs.
To end, Dr. Asa Hershoff has
previously released other books. Three
of those previously released books are; The
Ten Laws of Power, The Ten Laws of
Loss and The Ten Laws of Shadow. For more than 40 years, he has focused on
natural health. The focus on natural
health includes practicing, writing and speaking engagements. Dr. Asa Hershoff is considered to be an
expert, when it comes to mind-body healing.
Coincidentally, he is also one of the pioneers of the Country of
Canada’s natural health movement. For
this effort, he helped found the Canadian College
of Naturopathic Medicine. This occurred in the year, 1978. As previously stated, Dr. Asa Hershoff
recently announced that, he is very familiar with celery.
