(Louisville,
KY) In the year 1980, the American
Psychiatric Association, officially recognized post traumatic stress disorder
(P.T.S.D.). Coincidentally, the term
P.T.S.D. became commonly used during the 1970’s. This is due to the Vietnam War, and, the
diagnoses of U.S.
military veterans. Prior to this
official recognition; post traumatic stress disorder, was also referred to as shell
shock, or, combat neurosis.
Fascinatingly, aside from military veterans, P.T.S.D. isn’t that
common. In fact, it is reported that,
only about 3.5% of adults have P.T.S.D.

Gone, is made possible by the following book publishing company. Officially, the book publishing company is,

to, post traumatic stress disorder, the aforementioned is classified as a
mental disorder. The cause is exposure
to a very traumatic event. Sexual
assault, war, violent collisions and threats can trigger post traumatic stress
disorder. The symptoms include
disturbing thoughts, feelings or dreams.
Obviously, the latter are related to the event that, triggered
P.T.S.D. Aside from the symptoms, a
person also does feel changes, when it comes to thinking and emotions. These altered thoughts and emotions, can lead
to suicide attempts, and, self-harm.
