Blackhawk Network Holdings, Inc. Releases a Holiday Shopping Report

            Returning to, the 2019 Branded Pay Holiday Shopping Preview Report, the aforementioned highlights these two quick facts.  The quick facts are; consumers will spend 7% more on gift cards during the 2019 holiday shopping season, and, consumers will spend about 35% of their total spending budget purchasing gift cards.  The latter, interestingly enough, is based on consumer confidence.  Yes indeed and according to the 2019 Branded Pay Holiday Shopping Preview Report, 63% of consumers feel confident about the state of the economy.  So much so that, approximately 32% of the previous 63% confident consumers will spend more during the 2019 holiday shopping season.  Additionally, 25% do have plans to include more people, in their shopping plans.  On average, the average consumer is shopping for gifts for 8 people in their lives.  The average spending budget of the average consumer, is predicted at $618.93 USD.  Overall, spending on gift cards does appeal to consumers.  Particularly, gift cards are appealing because, they help to alleviate shopper pain points.  For example dealing with crowds, not knowing what to buy, buying the wrong gift and waiting in line are the most common shopper pain points.  Finally, the 2019 Branded Pay Holiday Shopping Preview Report, predicts the following about gift cards.  It predicts that the gift card categories; grocery store, convenience store, entertainment, travel, health & beauty, home goods, furniture and department store gift cards are the most popular.
