Construction Begins on the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront

(Rockville, MD) The Donohoe Companies, Inc. was established in the year, 1884.  Since then, it has been a full service real estate business.  Today; it leverages the breadth of its history and expertise to build, develop, service, manage, lease and maintain real estate assets.  These real estate assets are valued, in the billions of dollars.  Additionally; these real estate assets are places where people can shop, work, live and play.  In order to accomplish the aforementioned, The Donohoe Companies, Inc. implements creative solutions, to be able to, solve difficult real estate challenges.  These real estate challenges are also business challenges.  For this effort there are five business divisions that, make up The Donohoe Companies, Inc.  The five business divisions are; the Donohoe Construction Company, the Donohoe Real Estate Services, the Donohoe Hospitality Services, the Donohoe Development Company and the Donohoe Facilities Management.  Recently, Choice Hotels International, Inc. announced that, it is familiar with the Donohoe Development Company.  Additionally, that it is also familiar with their business partners, Koucar Management, LLC.  Specifically, the aforementioned franchisor of hotels announced that, construction has begun on the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront.  The previously mentioned future hotel is owned by the Donohoe Development Company, and, Koucar Management, LLC.  The Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront opens to the general public, early in the year 2021.

          Early in the year 2021, when the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront will open to the general public; it will become the 5th Cambria Hotel in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.  Additionally, it will be a nine story hotel of 154 hotel guestrooms.  Furthermore, the Donohoe Hospitality Services will manage this hotel property.  However and returning to, the Donohoe Development Company and the Donohoe Hospitality Services, the aforementioned businesses perform different roles.  The roles are prescribed by The Donohoe Companies, Inc.  Specifically, the Donohoe Development Company is a full service, commercial real estate business.  The area of expertise is the Washington, D.C. region.  The business portfolio includes the following types of commercial real estate properties; office, hotel, retail, industrial and residential.  For all of its commercial real estate assets, it guides the entire project.  In other words; it develops its own commercial real estate assets from conception, all the way through, the completion of the construction.  Specifically, the Donohoe Hospitality Services is a hotel management company.  This business division is focused on delivering a service to the owners and business partners, of a hotel property.  In order to accomplish this effort, it is approved to manage hotels.  Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Hyatt and Choice Hotels have all approved the Donohoe Hospitality Services to manage their hotels.  Interestingly, it is considered to be an independent, hotel management company.

          Returning to, the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront, the aforementioned hotel property is designed by BBGM Architects.  The previously mentioned architecture firm, also focuses on the interior design.  Therefore, expectations are high, along with, the enthusiasm for this future Washington, D.C. hotel.  Specifically, this hotel will be located on 69 Q Street SW, Washington, D.C.  It will be a walking distance from the Navy Yard Metro Station, and, about three miles away from the major tourist action.  The major tourist action means the U.S. Capitol, the National Mall and the Smithsonian Museum.  After it opens to the general public, it is expected that the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Capitol Riverfront will be highlighted by the following seven things.  First, it is expected to be the completion of a local design process.  In order to accomplish this idea, a cornice will be placed over the reception desk.  The idea is to honor something that has been salvaged, from the local neighborhood.  Second; there will be a ground level restaurant, a rooftop lounge and a terrace that is 3,500 ft² in size.  Third, all of the hotel guestrooms will be modern and sophisticated.  For this effort, the fixtures will be modern, along with, the bedding.  Fourth, the bathrooms will be spa style.  Additionally, the bathrooms will have Bluetooth mirrors.  Fifth, the dining options will be of a local concept.  In order to accomplish this effort, even the beer will be local craft beer.  Sixth, there will be 2,500 ft² of meeting space that, will be perfectly suited for multiple types of functions.  Seventh, the hotel’s fitness center will be state of the art.

(NYSE:  CHH) did release a press statement.  Janis Cannon is the Senior Vice President of Upscale Brands at Choice Hotels International, Inc.  Through a press statement, Ms./Mrs. Cannon said the following.  “The D.C. area has been home to Choice Hotels’ corporate office for decades—so we’re especially excited when a Cambria hotel breaks ground in our own backyard.  The Cambria Washington D.C. Capitol Riverfront is perfectly positioned in one of the city’s most exciting neighborhoods, just blocks from bustling development projects that are sure to appeal to business and leisure guests alike.”  Janis Cannon also said.  “We are pleased the hotel will join four Cambria hotels already in the ‘DMV,’ including College Park; Rockville; Washington, D.C., Convention Center; and Arundel Mills-BWI.”  As previously stated, Choice Hotels International, Inc. recently announced that, it is familiar with the Donohoe Development Company.  Additionally, that it is also familiar with their business partners, Koucar Management, LLC.  Specifically, the aforementioned franchisor of hotels announced that, construction has begun on the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C.
