(San
Diego, CA) For the most part,
wireless speakers are still loudspeakers.
In essence, a wireless speaker receives audio signals. These audio signals are probably, radio
frequency (RF) waves. Of these radio
frequency (RF) waves, there are two that, are the most common. The two most common frequencies are; a
variation of the Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11, and, the ever present Bluetooth
technology. Fascinatingly, wireless
speakers still receive a good amount of criticism. The criticism is based on the potential for
RF interference, along with, low sound quality.
Irregardless of the criticism, wireless speakers are always popular
consumer electronics products. Recently;
Sony Electronics, Inc. announced that, it believes that, it can eliminate the
criticism about wireless speakers.
Specifically, the aforementioned business revealed that, it has launched
an immersive wearable speaker.
Technically, it is officially named, the SRS-WS1 Immersive Wearable
Speaker. The previous, is meant to
enhance the home audio experience.
The enhancement of the home audio
experience, which is done through a wearable speaker that has audio vibrations,
is the new Sony SRS-WS1 Immersive Wearable Speaker. Continuing with this line of thought, the
aforementioned, has already been launched in other parts of the world. Therefore, this launch is the official U.S.A.
début. In the other parts of the world,
the Sony SRS-WS1 has indeed been popularly received; incidentally. As previously said; this wearable speaker is
meant to enhance the home audio experience, the experience of feature films,
televised or streaming concerts and video games. In order to accomplish, what was previously
said, a wireless transmitter is included with the purchase. The wireless transmitter has to be connected
to the desired device. For example; a
television set, a smart telephone or a handheld video game console. Additionally, two Sony SRS-WS1 speakers can
be connected to, one transmitter. This
wireless transmitter uses 2.4 GHz RF wireless technology. Furthermore, there is also a cable that is
included, in order, to switch to a wired experience.
Continuing with, the Sony SRS-WS1
Immersive Wearable Speaker, the aforementioned has a charge time of about three
hours. This charge time provides, a
maximum continuous use of up to seven hours.
What sets apart the Sony SRS-WS1 is the design. The design is highlighted by the ability, to
place this wireless speaker on the shoulders.
The idea is a compact listening experience. From this point, the design allows for speaker
slots, and, a digital sound processing unit.
The idea is to create a field of surround sound, around the user’s
ears. There are ducts, which reduce the
excess resonance. The latter, maintains
a clear and crisp sound. Aiding the
delivery of the sound, are two 30 mm drivers or speakers. The drivers or speakers are placed on both
sides, of this shoulder placed wearable wireless speaker. Finally, the Sony SRS-WS1 Immersive Wearable
Speaker is able to provide a sensory experience. The sensory experience is vibrations. These vibrations reproduce an explosion, a
jump, a shot or real audio feedback.
Additionally, the intensity of the vibrations can be configured by the
user. The intensity settings are low,
medium and high.
