Mazda North American Operations Releases the January 2020; Automobile Sales Results


(Irvine, CA) Mazda or the Mazda Motor Corporation, is a Japanese automobile manufacturer.  Mazda’s history began on January 30th, 1920, as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd.  Incidentally, early in its history, the Mazda Motor Corporation was saved from bankruptcy.  Hiroshima Saving Bank, along with, other business leaders in Hiroshima Japan were the parties responsible; for keeping Mazda alive.  From the years 1974 to 2015, the Mazda Motor Corporation was involved in a business partnership, with the Ford Motor Company.  This business partnership, interestingly, is due to the fact that; the Ford Motor Company acquired ownership percentages in the Mazda Motor Corporation.  In 1979, the ownership percentage was 24.5%.  In 1995, the ownership percentage was 33.4%.  However, things changed between the years 2008 and 2015.  Recently, Mazda North American Operations announced that, it can feel the independent car sales spirit.  Specifically, the aforementioned business revealed that, it has released its January 2020 automobile sales results.  For the United States of America, 23,621 automobiles were sold during January of the year 2020. 
            The January 2020 automobile sales results of 23,621 sold automobiles, is an overall increase of 17.8%.  The latter, is in comparison to the year 2019.  However and returning to; the Mazda Motor Corporation, the aforementioned and as previously said, used to be in a business relationship with the Ford Motor Company.  Additionally, this business relationship dramatically changed, between the years 2008 and 2015.  It is reported that, in the year 2014, the Ford Motor Company only owned 2.1% of Mazda’s stock.  During this same year, it is also reported that, development and production ties began to be severed.  Finally, and on September 30th, 2015, the Ford Motor Company sold its remaining shares in Mazda.  During this same year, the Mazda Motor Corporation reported that, it manufactured 1.5 million automobiles.  All of these automobiles were intended for global sales.  Additionally, 1 million of these 1.5 million automobiles were manufactured in the Country of Japan.  Furthermore, and for the year 2015, the Mazda Motor Corporation was ranked as the 15th largest automaker in the world.  Interestingly; the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of all Mazda automobiles in the United States of America and Mexico is conducted out of Mazda North American Operations.  The latter, is located in Irvine California, U.S.A.  In Mexico, Mazda North American Operations is, Mazda Motor de Mexico.  The former, also manages approximately 620 Mazda automobile dealerships.
            Returning to, the January 2020 automobile sales results, the aforementioned are based on 25 sales days.  These 25 sales days are standard, for the month of January.  Incidentally, Mazda North American Operations, also refers to the sales days as, daily selling rate (D.S.R.).  Overall, the January 2020 automobile sales results are highlighted by the following nine facts.  The first fact is, the sales of Mazda’s crossover S.U.V.s increased by 40.7%.  The latter, is 18,974 automobiles of the reported 23,621 sold automobiles.  Additionally; the models are the Mazda CX-3, CX-30, CX-5 and CX-9.  The second fact is, the Mazda CX-9 sold the most.  Specifically, 2,552 Mazda CX-9s were sold.  The latter, is an increase of 37.2%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.  The third fact is, the Mazda CX-5 experienced an increase in sales of 21.2%.  The fourth fact is, 1,146 Mazda CX-3s were sold.  The latter, is an increase of 18%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.  The fifth fact is, 2,368 Mazda CX-30s were sold.  The latter, is a big surprise due to the fact that, the Mazda CX-30 was launched in November of the year 2019.  The sixth fact is, 1,755 Mazda 6s were sold.  The latter, is an increase of 8.4%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.  The seventh fact is, 396 Mazda MX-5 Miatas were sold.  The latter, is an increase of 14.1%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.  The eighth fact is, in total 4,665 certified pre-owned (C.P.O.) automobiles were sold.  The latter, is an increase of 19.8%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.  Finally the ninth fact is, Mazda Motor de Mexico reported 4,784 sold automobiles, for January of the year 2020.  The latter, is a decrease of 6.6%, when compared to the January 2019 sales results.

            To end and as previously stated, Mazda North American Operations recently announced that, it can feel the independent car sales spirit.  Specifically, the aforementioned business revealed that, it has released its January 2020 automobile sales results.  For the United States of America, 23,621 automobiles were sold during January of the year 2020.  Lastly; the January 2020 automobile sales results of 23,621 sold automobiles, is an overall increase of 17.8%.  The latter, is in comparison to the year 2019.
