“Spicemania” was already in full motion.
Therefore, it was only appropriate that, a second studio album should
attempt to increase spicemania. On November 1st, 1997, Spiceworld (1997) was released by the
Spice Girls. The aforementioned music album,
did become a commercial success. In
fact, Spiceworld (1997) is recognized
for having sold, more than 13 million copies worldwide. The previously stated fact, presents a second
interesting fact. The second interesting
fact, Spiceworld (1997) peaked in the
top three of the music charts of five countries. The five countries are the United
States of America, Australia,
Canada, France
and Switzerland. At the same time, 13 other countries report
that the aforementioned music album, was number one. In the year 2007, spicemania was officially
honored with another music album.
However, this time it was a greatest hits collection; The Greatest Hits (2007). Recently, Universal Music Enterprises
announced that, it is familiar with both Spice Girls music albums. Specifically, the aforementioned music
industry giant revealed that, it is re-releasing the two previously mentioned
music albums. Technically; the re-release
of Spiceworld (1997) and The Greatest Hits (2007), is for the
release of a vinyl record. The
re-release is all set and ready for March
13th, 2020.
On March 13th, 2020, Spiceworld (1997) and The
Greatest Hits (2007), will be re-released by the following record
labels. The record labels are; Universal
Music Enterprises, and, Virgin E.M.I.
The vinyl records or albums, will officially be 180 gram black
vinyl. However and returning to, the
Spice Girls’ The Greatest Hits (2007),
the aforementioned music album was released on November 7th, 2007. Fascinatingly, the lingerie retail store, Victoria’s
Secret, participated in the release. The
participation was done through a limited release, of this music album. The full commercial release in the U.S.A.,
occurred on January 15th,
2008. The Greatest Hits (2007), and at that time, was the Spice Girls’
first music album in the last seven years.
Needless to say, the aforementioned music album stayed around. In fact; it is reported that, after the 2012
Summer Olympics in London, it
re-appeared in the music charts of the following countries. The countries are the United Kingdom/Britain,
the United States of America,
New Zealand and
Australia.
