current investors decided to double down on their bet. The current investors who doubled down on
their bet are Bessemer Venture Partners, Union Square Ventures, Uncork Capital
and Version One. Currently, this
business reports that, it has $59 million USD in total funds. The most noteworthy new investor of Shippo is
D1 Capital Partners.
D1 Capital Partners, as the most
noteworthy new investor, will be contributing funds. The funds will be used for the following one
thing. The one thing is expanding
Shippo’s network. In reference to,
expanding Shippo’s network, the aforementioned is based on the value of the
e-commerce marketplace. The latter, is
estimated at $3.5 trillion USD.
Fascinatingly, it is expected to double, by the year 2023. Second, it is predicted that, e-commerce only
makes up about 15% of the total retail spending. Therefore, Shippo is right there and in the
middle, with its e-commerce technology stack.
However and returning to; Shippo,
the aforementioned business counts, the following businesses as customers. eBay, Freestyle Solutions, Tuft & Needle,
Weebly, Go Daddy, Shyp, Mercari, Stripe, Sellbrite, Snapfulfil, Shopify, Wix,
Square and Amazon are only 14 of Shippo’s customers. Interestingly, Shippo was launched in the
year, 2013. Currently, Shippo reports
that, it provides services for more than 35,000 businesses. The work, primarily, is conducted through
Shippo’s network. The latter, is a
platform that provides access to more than 58 carriers. The goal of Shippo’s network, is helping
business clients navigate through, the complexities that are inherent in
shipping. It is reported that, to this
date, Shippo has helped ship more than 150 million packages.
Returning to; Catherine Stewart, the
aforementioned person and as previously said, is now onboard at Shippo. Her job title position is, Chief Operating
Officer. Before joining Shippo, she held
the job title position; Chief Business Officer at Automattic. The latter, owns Wordpress.com. Whilst at Automattic; she oversaw the
business’s go to market functions, the marketing, the inside sales, the
business partnerships and the corporate development. Catherine Stewart did release a press
