(Santa Monica, CA) In the year 2011, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg launched their very own movie studio. This movie studio is named, Point Grey Pictures. Additionally, James Weaver also jumped into Point Grey Pictures; as a partner. The objective of the aforementioned movie studio is being a media production company that; is dedicated to releasing multi-genre feature films, and, television content. The feature films and television content also aim at being dynamic, authentic and passionate narrative based stories. Obviously the Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. d.b.a. Lionsgate noticed the part; dynamic, authentic and passionate narrative based stories. Recently, the Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. revealed that, it has acquired an investment stake in Point Grey Pictures. As a result of the acquisition; a joint business venture between Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver was quickly agreed upon. This business venture is a deal, whereby Point Grey Pictures, will produce multi-platform media content for the Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.
The multi-platform media content that, has to be produced by Point Grey Pictures, is how original intellectual property based content will be created. For the Lionsgate side (NYSE: LGF.A and LGF.B), the latter is the work of the following executives. Patricia Laucella, Bonnie Stylides, Sandra Stern and Laura Kennedy are the Lionsgate executives. For the original intellectual property based content, it is for every type of media platform that, is inside the Lionsgate 360° entertainment ecosystem. For example; theatrically released feature films, television series that will be sold or distributed and television series that will be exclusive for the cable television channel Starz. Obviously for Point Grey Pictures; the previously said, is the Lionsgate 360° entertainment ecosystem, and, their immediate future projects. Outside of the 360° ecosystem; working with Lionsgate executives in order to execute digital and location based entertainment ideas, is also part, of the agreed upon deal. Post acquisition of the investment stake; Point Grey Pictures will continue to be led by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Point Grey Pictures did release a press statement. Through a joint press statement; Mr. Rogen, Mr. Goldberg and Mr. Weaver said the following. “Lionsgate is a leader in entertainment with few equals.
